It was unclear the exact role that Rhys Ifans will play in Spiderman 4 (still waiting to know the final title of the resumption of the familiar Spider franchise).
His arrival seems to confirm a trend of producing players choose not too familiar. Or what can also be seen as low wage costs, at least for the first installments of the franchise.
According to officials of Columbia Pictures, the signing of Rhys Ifans came after seeing his performance in Anonymous. Something "not convinced doubt "about the suitability of the actor for the role of villain. A paper by far not revealed, but no doubt the speculation will not be few. Because now we already have a face for it.
Rhys Ifans is also in the cast of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, specifically giving life to Xenophilius Lovegood, Luna's father.
Spiderman 4 opens in theaters next July 3, 2012. The shooting will start in December therefore not take much to get the other names, or at least announced.
