President of Nokia said on Wednesday that Nokia phones with Windows will be in the market since 2012 and said that Nokia had other potential partners besides Microsoft and Google.
Nokia announced on Friday it would partner with Microsoft and adopt Phone the Windows software on their devices, replacing his own and making the Symbian platform largest handset maker in the world into a producer of hardware.
"These products based on Windows (will be in the market) in 2012," Jorma Ollila said in an interview with Finnish broadcaster YLE.
Nokia President Stephen Elop said on Tuesday that the firm is feeling the pressure and aims to produce a phone that works with the operating system of their new partner Microsoft before the end of this year.
Ollila said Microsoft was not the only option was Nokia, noting that many companies have shown interest in cooperate with the Finnish mobile phone manufacturer.
"They were Microsoft, Google and our own choice (go it alone). Besides these, we had other applicants, "he said.
Ollila reiterated that he is available to work on the board of Nokia 2012. Reuters
