INTRODUCTION
If sin is disobedience to God's will, the person who is forgiven and start a new life, not to sin again (John 5:14; 8:11), but obey the will of God.
1. Need for obedience to the will of God
1. What is better than sacrifice?
1 Samuel 15:22.
"And Samuel said," The Lord takes pleasure in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? "To obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams."
Note:
Obviously, this text tells us that what God most values, more than sacrifice, and other offerings, is the willingness of our heart, our attitude in life, our daily lives in harmony with the advice and principles that the Creator gave us in His Word.
other hand, this text does not excuse our ceremonial and religious duty, we note that says "best", which also indicates that it is good to offer sacrifices and offerings, but not the main thing for salvation. Rather they result from a grateful heart to God.
2. Who are the true members of the family of Jesus?
Mark 3:35 "For whoever does the will of God, that is My brother and my sister and my mother. "
Note: This text indicates all. There is no priority, preference or breeds that have privileges to God. The privilege is one that does the will of our God, many ways, beginning to enjoy a clear conscience and peace with those around him, and forming part of the divine family.
3. What we seek to know?
Ephesians 5:17 "Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord. "
Note: Many undertake long journeys, adventures and journeys searching for the meaning of life or" Truth. " No need to go that far. Nearly everyone has a Bible, where "The Truth, The Way and The Life" let his written words.
2. How to know God's will?
1. "Through what we can know His will?
Romans 10:17 "So faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God."
Note: Understanding
by faith "trust" is logical to see that only trust someone we know. It's hard to trust a stranger.
Therefore, there is only one way to meet someone, to take confidence, and is listening, talking to that person.
Before there were modern media, people communicated by writing. Was how to "hear" in the distance. God has given us His written Word, the Bible, through which, you know.
The more we read the Bible, you'd know. The more we know God, the more confidence we have in him. More faith in God.
2. What other means are there?
Psalm 119:11 "In my heart I have hidden your not sin against you."
Note: The heart, or conscience in other places, is the means by which God also speaks to us in everyday life.
Romans 16:26 "But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, has made known to all nations for the obedience of faith."
3. What else is there that contains his wonderful will?
Psalm 119:18.
"Open my eyes, and look at the wonders of your law."
Note: God's law rather than a list of prohibitions, as many see it, is actually a series of promises which express the will of God wonderful. The commandments tell us that if we make God first in our lives, from that time "no kill" (note that not using the imperative "Do not kill.) That is, from that time we will not have the urge, or need to do that which indicates the command (killing, adultery, greed etc ....), However, it will welcome what we are told so positive, and honor your father and mother, keeping the Sabbath, etc.. The law of God are ten wonderful promises.
4. Who teaches us about her?
John 14:26 "But the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you all that I I told you ".
3. Example of Jesus
1. What was not looking for Jesus?
John 6:38" I came down from heaven not to do my own will but the will who sent me. "
John 5:30" I can do anything for myself, as I hear, I judge: and my opinion is right, because I seek not my will but the will of him who sent me , the Father. "
Note: Jesus left us an example of how to act like humans. Seek first God's will.
2. What do you like doing?
Psalm 40:8
"do thy will, O God, I delight, thy law is within my heart" Hebrews 10:9
"and then saying, Behold, I come, oh God, to do your will. "
3. What was your food?
John 4:34 "Jesus said: My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me and to finish his work."
4. What role did obedience of Jesus in the plan of salvation?
Romans 5:19 "For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. "
Note: remember that Jesus' death on the cross forgives us of sin. But we must also remember that his life of obedience is credited to us, replacing our past to God, from the moment we accept His Son as our Savior.
5. How was Jesus obedient?
Philippians 2:8 "And being found in appearance as a man he humbled himself and became obedient unto death, even death on a cross. "Revelation 2:10
" Do not fear You are going to suffer. Behold, the devil will put some of you in prison to test you, and ye shall have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life ".
Note: God put us in any situation that is not provided or can not bear (1 Corinthians 10:13), but reached the time that obedience could cost up to life (this earthly life) God promises us eternal life.
4. The experience of the believer obedience
1. What happened to the Jews when they became ?
Acts 6:7
"And the word of the Lord, and the number of disciples multiplied greatly in Jerusalem, many of the priests were obedient to the faith."
Note: note that acceptance of Jesus was accompanied by obedience.
2. What happened to the Gentiles when they became?
Romans 15:18 "I will not dare speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me to the obedience of the Gentiles, by word and deed."
3. How to behave a believer?
1 Peter 1:13; 14
"Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, hope fully on the grace to be brought to you Jesus Christ; as children obedient, do not conform to the desires that you formerly had in your ignorance. "
4. Can there be true faith without works of obedience?
James 2:17 "Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead in itself."
Note: legalism should not be confused with the works of faith. Legalism seeks salvation through doing good things, would make obedience as a means to an end (supposedly salvation). But the true faith, true faith in God as the fruit has to do what you ask, not to gain a favor or merit, but because we understand that God wants the best for us, and we welcome what he asks. True obedience is the consequence of love.
5. What Jesus taught us to ask?
Matthew 6:10 "Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done as in heaven and in earth."
6. How are we doing the will of God?
Ephesians 6:6 "No eye serving as the pleasers men, but as servants of Christ, heart doing the will of God. "
7. What will be the result of obedience in our lives?
1 Peter 1:22.
" Having purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit to unfeigned love, love one another deeply, from the heart. "
Note: Obedience refines our character. When one, for love, does that a loved one asks, do not always want, but obey out of love, sacrifices welcome. This leads to a refinement of the physical and mental faculties of human beings, especially if it is obedience to God's will, which always seeks our good.
5.
reward obedient
1. What will be the fate of the disobedient?
2 Thessalonians 1:7, 8
"And to you who are troubled rest with us when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with his mighty angels in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. "
Note: God does not want anyone's misfortune. Worst punishment would be condemned to live eternally in the company of someone who dislikes in the company of beings that is not in harmony. If we are in harmony with the Creator, the Source of Life's best to be deprived of it that have to live in suffering.
2. Who will enter the kingdom of heaven?
Matthew 7:21 "Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of my Father in heaven."
3. Who is Jesus, the author of eternal salvation?
Hebrews 5:9 "And having been perfected, He became author of eternal salvation for all who obey him. "
Note: Jesus gave and gives salvation to all mankind, but it will not help for those who reject it. Obedience is the evidence of the acceptance of Jesus as Savior. Obviously, those who disobey him, show by their actions that they have not accepted, so that the eternal salvation will be effective only upon those who obey Him.
4. Who will the promise?
Hebrews 10:36 "For you have need of patience, that having done the will of God, receive the promise."
Note: God has promised salvation, among other things. Those who have actually agreed to do his will, are those who show obedience, and therefore, those who ultimately enjoy the divine promises.
5. Who will stay forever?
1 John 2:17 "And the world passeth away, and desires, but whoever does the will of God abideth forever."
6. What needs doing?
Acts 5:29 "Peter and the apostles answered and said, We must obey God rather than men."
Summary: Obedience is necessary, not something sought, but because it is formal and natural fruit of a love relationship with and for God. He who obeys, leaving only benefited, processed and giving evidence that he actually has accepted Jesus and God's will. -------------
