Part II: Trekking to Roraima Tepuy (lowering of Roraima)

Mega Travel Year 2010 and early 2011. Part II: Trekking to Roraima Tepuy (lowering of Roraima)

Friday 12/24/2010. Fifth Day Trek to Roraima, Hotel Del Rio Guácharo New Tek

That is better than a sunny morning in Roraima?? as a second clear in Roraima jejeje dawn, through the misty night, full of mist and drizzle that in addition to good vibes and the magic hand of the guardians of the mountain gave us the privilege of watching not one but two times the abyss Clear ...

Panoramic View of the Abyss
Another awakening in the midst of what until now has been for me l pure and peaceful scenery found on earth, the timing was ideal to meditate a little, give thousands of thanks for all your blessings and ask me every day in the future to overcome the previous ....

Roraima Rim View
A photo shoot to avoid wasting the power saved from the brink and forever mark the time was how to close Now these memories, really at a point of the trip finally convinced me, I always knew, but sometimes trying to see if he was wrong-that all that experience, landscapes and moments is impossible to capture in the lens of a camera, therefore photographs and videos are simply digital material for when you want to relive moments and memories go to them and return those icons of my life.

Deep down I knew I could not do anything to escape the terrible game of that magical place, The Tepuy Roraima, so my body in auto proceeded to the camp and ready to collect the bags, of course my mind was totally detached from this situation not have to face since that time meant a return to nostalgia.

minutes before leaving: (, is clouded in a few minutes all the light ... Even
they knew that it was ideal to leave as soon as possible, as the walk that day was the longest and most demanding of all, get ready for breakfast and lasted nearly two hours, and when the Pelu gives the signal for I was still admiring the abyss, its vastness and grandeur to the I made a sign to move forward ... I reached it and in fact I was with my boo the last two of the group to depart Hotel Guácharo.

There is not anyone catch the purse and back ...
Even walking the same path fourth time was exciting, you always see different things, to the light that is reflected in the stones makes the experience is new, slowly back to the agonizing weight of the backpack reach the rest group and a little less than an hour we were at the beginning of the ramp to begin the descent.

I will not bore you with the way down, and I gave enough details in the story of the rise ... what I can say is that particularly I thought the climb was the hardest trek-and eye really is! - and that the fall was much more relaxed. However, high and large stones of the ramp makes the descent is slower than the rise and even at times to jump between rocks, and the constant effort to stop the inertia of the body causes extreme fatigue in quadriceps sweet potatoes and 10 hours after taking down active lactic acid to the point that the muscle pain you can barely walk. Even the pemones legs hurt them after the descent, so much that one is trained, muscular pain is almost inevitable.

Tepuy On the way up to the weather we had offered a mist that did not allow us see the savanna, or its own Tepuy which in turn thanked her for some reasons such as: give us a perfect perspective for not knowing when needed and are so high, the view would have been wasted because when you coming up, just see the floor forward and to assess the Savannah would have to turn or stop all the time and was absurd, and also had a cool climate for promotion. And in my prayers, meditation was always present the request to weather in the fall conditions were totally opposed, to Savannah and enjoy the landscape as it is always looking down to admire the scenery available: D.

down the ramp
Although shooting was to have more of the same, as to the visual gifts Tepuy and is virtually impossible not to keep spending the memory and battery to the camera, the way to complete the ramp is a little less demanding and less rocky terrain so the only difficulty to the base camp of two spades represented the mega steep before reaching the base.

Once there was planned a lunch that repowering our bodies and give us the necessary carbohydrates to continue the arduous journey to Rio Tek. Boo and I prefer to rest in the base was the shortest necessary for the muscles do not cool too much or losing the rhythm of the walk, so within minutes of eating followed the descent.

Upon arriving at Base Camp

The Base Camp
De really the way to the military camp was between bored and nostalgic as when you turn the gaze Tepuy wall look farther and farther away (and started to drizzle so it was psychologically more tedious journey, luckily the rain was temporary and soon the cloud and was on his way to the mountains.

In the way from Rio Kukenan Military Camp, where a narrow path to walk, I identify some apple green elongated along the floor and when I stop particular well to confirm what my mind had thought, and to verify whether it was actually ! I had hit a pretty sizable bet snake along the threshing of the walk stood still perhaps frightened by my presence. Stopping completely to remove the camera and capture the beauty reaches boo me coming a little behind, and then take a few pictures, we proceeded to frighten it into the forest to any other person to find it and an accident occurred, so little I know about snakes I think if it was poisonous but extremely dangerous.

Al
Culebra Road to Rio Kukenan
take several hours of walking, we came to Rio Kukenan and forth the procedure for removing boots and socks put on water shoes, cross the river and whole story and then a little over half an hour walk, repeat the procedure in Rio Tek, who that day was our final destination: D

Without much thought to ride representing the last camp of the trek Roraima course with the new tent overlooking the Tepuyes. Hey if it is true we are to 24 December, Christmas day:) so I set to work to prepare dinner, however, there was a slight mishap in the group, and the parents of one of the fellow passengers began to weaken and you feel bad and a few hours had passed without news of them also lacked carriers bringing supplies for dinner and kitchen we assumed were with Mr. affected. In a nutshell, the guide was one of the porters back to see what was happening and while they came back with good news, that the gentlemen made it to Rio Kukenan but by the time, fatigue and other conditions would not follow the path.

River Crossing
Before Kukenan
The dinner was calm and peace of mind knowing that the whole group but were well separated and then boo and I decided to deviate from the crowd to enjoy a Christmas night under the stars with a little tequila and a cool ...

Saturday 12/25/2010. Sixth Day Trek to Roraima, Rio de Roraima Tek to Paraitepuy

honestly do not want to bore me to thank the sunrise I was offered the mountains and their environment, THANKS! Again to open the tent the Tepuyes clear with a faint light on them showing colors not known but in my books.

Dawn in Rio Tek
repowering already, even with the small comfort of insulators and sleeping bags and combined with many days in the same situation, the mood was incredible. The exhausted body, legs in pain even when sitting, walking downhill really 10 hours the day before my legs weakened sharply. The mind on the back, and the nostalgia was back, again the situation was that the return was closer to the success achieved, but the body was to be dominated by the mind to achieve the final trek to the Paraitepuy of Roraima.

Every step was agony from muscular pains in the legs, the weight of the bag on the shoulders and see the time and feel that is several kilometers long was not alternative but to put the mind blank, take a deep breath, look back to Roraima and relive the hours and without thinking one step at a time enjoying the scenery.

In Roraima Paraitepuy after Achieving the Goal!
After many stops short and suffering of the legs after nearly 6 hours of walking and could see the ridge of Paraitepuy: D, of course seeing it so close but still with a few minutes to enjoy the last kilometer seemed endless, but it was also inevitable: Met Goal and Goal! we The Trek to Roraima!

We Made Boo! Roraima crowned!
remove the bag and throw it on the floor was priceless and drink a cold polar then the entire trip was almost a utopia come true. That happiness was so great at the time, was the fulfillment of a life goal! a milestone in my career, the feelings overwhelmed me turning his gaze to the Roraima and speaking in my mind: I did, you see, I crowned you!
