The Holy Spirit is not simply a divine power or influence. Is a person in the truest sense and rigorous word.
1. The name of the Holy Spirit mentioned in close connection with others as if one of them
1. Who Was it what was decided at the Council of Jerusalem? Acts 15:28.
"It seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things."
2. Who glorifies Hesus? John 16: 13-14.
"But when He, the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth: He will not speak on their own, but will speak whatever he hears, and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shew it unto you. "
2. The facts of Spirit are facts pertaining to personal and conscious action
1. What distinguishes a person what?
Answer: is self-consciousness, the person hac and act with the free exercise of his will.
2. What personal actions are manifested in the Holy Spirit?
a. He
teaches. Luke 12:12.
"because the Holy Spirit will teach in the same hour what ye ought to say."
b. He
convicts. John 16:7-8.
"But I tell you the truth to your advantage that I go away, because if I go not away, the Comforter will not come to you, but if I depart, I will send him. And when he comes, convince the world sin, righteousness and judgment "
c. He speaks. Acts 8:29.
"And the Spirit said to Philip: Come and join this chariot."
d. Giving instructions. Acts 13:1, 2.
"there were in the church at Antioch prophets and teachers: Barnabas, Simeon who was called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen who had been brought up with Herod the Tetrarch, and Saul. They ministered to the Lord and fasting, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called. "
e. He forbids. Acts 16:6, 7.
" And through Phrygia and the province of Galatia, having been forbidden by the Holy Spirit to speak the word in Asia, and when they came to Mysia, they tried to go into Bithynia, but the Spirit would not allow it. "
f. He intercedes. Romans 8:26 .
"In the same way the Spirit also helps our infirmities: for what we should pray for as we do not know, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings."
g. Distributes gifts to whomever he wishes.
- 1 Corinthians 12:11
"But all these worketh that one and the same Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he wills."

Acts 20:28 "Take heed to yourselves and to all the flock that the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood" .
3. The Holy Spirit can be affected by human behavior, how people are affected by the acts of others
1. What not to do the Holy Spirit? Ephesians 4:30.
"Y Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. "
2. Against whom can sin? Matthew 12:31.
" Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. "
3. Who do not lie? Acts 5:1 - 4.
" But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession, and stole the money, knowing also his wife, and brought a certain part, and laid at the feet of the apostles. Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and have kept the price of the land? Holding it, was you do not you? and sold, was it not under your control? Why put this in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God. "
4. If it were only a personification of the power of divine action, there would be an absurd repetition
1. How was anointed Jesus? Facts 10:38.
" God anointed with the Holy Spirit and with power Jesus of Nazareth, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, because God was with him. "
2. How could the Roman believers abound in hope?
Romans 15:13" May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. "
3. How was the preaching of the apostle Paul? 1 Corinthians 2:4.
" And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom but in demonstration of the Spirit and power. "
5. Divinity of the Holy Spirit
1. Who Ananias lied when he lied to the Holy Spirit? Acts 5:3; 4.
"Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and have kept the price of the land? Retaining, was you did not you? And sold, was it not in your power and why put it in your heart? not lied to men but to God "
2. What attributes of God are applied to the Holy Spirit?
a. Gives life. Romans 8:2.
"For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death."
b. The Truth. John 16:13.
"But when He, the Spirit of Indeed, he will guide you into all truth: He will not speak on their own, but will speak whatever he hears, and he will shew you things to come ".
c. Is Holy. Romans 1:4 .
"which was declared the Son of God in power according to the Spirit of holiness by his resurrection from the dead."
d. Omnipresence. Psalm 139:7.
"Where do I go from your Spirit? And where can I flee from your presence? "
e. Omniscience. 1 Corinthians 12:4 - 11.
" Now there are diversities of gifts but the same Spirit. There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations, but God works all things in all the same. But each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the profit. Because it is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom, to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the same Spirit. To another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. But all these worketh that one and the same Spirit, dividing to every man severally as He wills. "
3. What works of God are attributed to the Holy Spirit?
i. Creation. Genesis 1: 1 to 2.
"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. And the earth was without form and void, and darkness was upon the face of the abyss, and the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters"
ii . Reprove the world of sin, righteousness and judgment. John 16:8.
"And when he comes, will convict the world of sin, justice and trial."
iii. The new birth. John 3:5 - 8.
"Jesus answered, Verily, verily I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and the Spirit, he can not enter the kingdom of God. What is born of the flesh is flesh, and what is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. The wind blows where it wishes and you hear the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit "
iv. The resurrection. Romans 8:11.
" And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, who rose from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. "
4. How is the name of God identified with the Holy Spirit?
Compare 1 Corinthians 3:16 with 1 Corinthians 6:19.
"Know ye not that ye are the temple of God , and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?"
" Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit , which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
Compare Jeremiah 31: 33 - 34 with Hebrews 10:15 - 17.
"But this is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith I will put my law in their minds, and write it in your heart; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. And do not teach again his fellow or his brother, saying, Know the LORD, for all I know, from the smallest to the largest of them, saith the Lord: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. "
" And testifies same the Holy Spirit, for having said: This is the covenant I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord: I will put my laws into their hearts And in their minds will I write them: And never again remember their sins and transgressions. "
5. What is the name of the Holy Spirit mentioned in equality with God?
a. In the baptismal formula. Matthew 28:19.
"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son, and Holy Spirit."
b. Hymn of blessing and greeting.
2 Corinthians 13:14 "The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen."
1 Peter 1:2.
"according to the foreknowledge of God the Father through sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience and sprinkling the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace and peace be multiplied. "
