HERE INTRODUCTION

Christianity is a personal relationship with God. The appropriate way to maintain that personal relationship is prayer.

1. Meaning and purpose of prayer

1. What is prayer?
Answer: "Prayer is the act of opening our hearts to God as a friend" (EG White, Steps to Christ).

2. God knows how much of our lives?
Psalm 139:1 - 4
"O Lord, thou hast searched me and known me. You know when I sit and when I get up, you understand my thoughts from afar. You comprehend my path and my lying down, And all my ways you are known. For there is not a word in my tongue, behold, O Lord, You know all ".

Matthew 6:8" Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knows what you need before you ask him .

Note: God knows our needs better than ourselves, and know what we're going to ask even before ordering. The reason we have to pray not to tell you something you do not know.

3. Is it to force God to change its purposes ?
James 1:17 "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, the Father of lights, with whom is no, neither shadow of turning."

Note: All good things come from God, who by the way, does not change or move. We can not change your mind to God. His desire is always to do good and help us, do not have to convince him to change his thinking because he is upset. Nor is this the reason why we should pray.

4. So, what is prayer?

Matthew 6:10 "Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done as in heaven and in earth."

1 John 5:14 "And this is the confidence we have in him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us."

Note: According to these two texts, prayer, reflection helps us to align our will to God. Do not always ask for as we ought (Romans 8:26), and prayer elevates our mind to the thoughts of God, makes us reflect.

On the other hand, have always said and say that God is a gentleman, be more educated than we know. And as such, never break into anyone's life without permission. God wants to do good, God knows our needs better than anyone, and do not change your way of thinking that is helping. But God can not help us if we ask for help. At the time that I present my requests in prayer, I am giving permission to act in my life. If God acting in our lives so extraordinary without being we asked, could be accused of acting against our will, force us to receive "blessings", so that God is limited and depends on our prayers and permits in order to help us.

Satan does not ask permission to act in the life of the people, is disrespectful. But God has to wait to ask you for help, only then can act in our lives.

5. Why we are advised otherwise Santiago to pray?
James 1:5 "If any of you lack wisdom, ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and will be given."

Note: God wants to reveal His will and truth in His Word. It is easy to see certain portions of the Bible. God is wanting us to reveal and understand little pearls that are hidden in His Word, and prayer is important to let God act in our minds of this Mantero.

6. What Jesus advises us terms that we use this powerful weapon?
Luke 11:9, 10
"And I say: Ask and ye shall receive, seek and find, knock and it shall be opened. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds and to him who knocks it will be opened. "

Luke 21:36 "Watch therefore, and pray that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things to come, and stand before the Son of Man.

Note: Prayer helps us stay in touch with Heaven, to persevere in a safe spiritual condition. Neglecting prayer makes our mind to focus exclusively on earthly things, and making decisions inappropriate moral laxity, to lead a disorderly conduct.

2. When, where and how to pray

1. When should we pray? 1 Thessalonians 5:17, 18.
"Pray without ceasing. Give thanks in all circumstances, because this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus. "

Note: constant prayer (" pray without ceasing) is not spending the entire day on his knees, but have an attitude of prayer in all we do. is to make God our daily companion work entertainment, etc. At all times we must be mentally conversing with the Lord on what we do, what we say, what we will decide, and so on. Also giving thanks for things that happen all the time.

2 . What three moments of the day are particularly mentioned?

Psalm 55:17 "Evening and morning and noon I will pray and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice."

Daniel 6:10 "Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he entered his house, and open the windows of his chamber toward Jerusalem, he knelt down three times a day and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as he did before. "

3. Where should we pray?

1 Timothy 2:8 "I will therefore that men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting."

Matthew 6:6 "But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door, pray to thy Father in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly"

Acts 3:1 "Then Peter and John went up together into the temple at the ninth hour of prayer."

Note: Any place is appropriate to pray to God with a sincere heart. No need to forgo the prayer for not being in a quieter place. However, we must cultivate the habit of departing few private moments to break the spirit in prayer. And of course, the house of prayer or church (temple) is the place of private prayer and in common with others who share the faith.

4. How should we pray?

Psalm 95:6 "Come, let us worship and bow down; Kneel before the LORD our Maker "Psalm 62:8

" Trust in him at all times, O people, pour out your heart before him: God is our refuge. "

Note: There is much discussion about how we pray, in what posture or physical location. No missing texts that support the knees to pray, seems to be the position of humility before the Creator. However there are more texts that say the prayer with his face close to the ground (Genesis 17:3 , Leviticus 9:24, Matthew 26:39) or with their faces covered with a veil (Exodus 3:6). Today practice such things are not appreciated, which indicates that there is no question of physical practice. There are also those who stand praying (Luke 18:11) or looking up to heaven (Luke 18:13) even while lying in bed or lying down (1 Kings 1:47, Psalm 4:4, Psalm 36:4).

all depends on the occasion, the time and place. However, what we do is essential is the right attitude in prayer: "Pour out your heart before Him, open our hearts to God, tell all our cares, our sorrows, our fears, share our joys, etc.

5. How should we pray to do so publicly?
1 Corinthians 14:13 - 16
"Therefore, who speaks in a tongue pray that he may interpret. If I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful. What then? I will pray with the spirit, I will pray with the understanding, sing with the spirit, but also sing with understanding. Because if you bless with the spirit, which occupies the place of the unlearned say the Amen how your Thanksgiving? he did not know what you've said. "Matthew 6:7

" pray, use not vain repetitions as the heathen, who think they will be heard for their much speaking. "

Note: there to pray with the understanding, so that I know what to say and those around me can understand for your edification. This not only warns the false tongues, but also the repetitive litany prayers learned by rote, which do not express our needs and our concerns before God dump or those around us.

3. Conditions to communicate with God

1. Who should we direct our prayers? John 16:23, 24.
"In that day shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say, whatever you ask in my name, will give you. So far nothing have asked in my name, ask and you shall receive, that your joy may be full. "

Note: biblical instruction is more than clear, we must direct our petitions to the Father.

2." In whose name we ask for? John 14:13, 14.
"And whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will. "

Note: This is the text by which we must finish our prayers asking the Father in the name of Jesus Christ, or Jesus, our intercessor or mediator.

3. How do we acknowledge our dependence upon God?
John 15:5 "I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, bears much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing."

Note: This text corroborates earlier. Prayer is necessary to stay with thoughts high and acceptable morality (good results). When this activity ceases, again behave improperly.

4. Why not compare the prayer of faith? James 1:6.
"But ask in faith, nothing wavering, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, driven by wind and tossed one part to another. "

Note: As seen in the study Faith is about trust. Ask someone suspicious does not like that receives the request. When someone suspicious is now at your side , then no, constantly changing his mind and his mind. The same happens with our relationship with God. Only by trusting God fully, we will not walk safety and doubting and changing her mind.

5. What example of perseverance in Lucas recorded prayer in the Gospel? Luke 18:1 - 8.
"And he spake a parable about the need to pray always and not lose heart, saying: There was a city a judge who neither feared God nor respected man. There was also a widow in that city, which came to him saying, Avenge me of mine adversary. And he would not for a while, but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God nor regard man I have, however, because this widow troubles me I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming, I run out of patience. And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge said. "And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? I tell you will avenge them speedily. But when the Son of Man He find faith on earth? ".

Note: God always gives us the things we ask in the same moment that we ask. As a father or mother does not always give your child everything he asks all times. We have no children spoiled, capricious have it all at any time, God also teaches us to be patient on many occasions. At other times, like a child can not understand beyond his little maturity or consequences why can not receive a "gift", just as God sees beyond the things we can perceive, and for reasons known only to him, denies us some things. While we do not understand, we must know it is all for our good.

6. What is the relationship between obedience and answer to prayer?
1 John 3:22 "And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight."

Note: Someone may say that God is capricious in the way of constraining certain answers to prayer. Nothing is further from the truth. Consider that all human beings on this planet, whether believers or not, we are children of God. And God as Father is concerned about how we handle what He gives. If one of my two children is a wasteful and asks me for money, of course not give you what you ask me to waste it, so I will be encouraging their bad habit, instead of correcting it. Similarly, a person with bad habits, health asks God, is the will to continue using drugs (for example)? On the other hand, when a child is obedient, it is a good resource manager gives his Father, you have more options (with exceptions) to get what he wants.

7. What example of perfect submission to the Father gave us Christ in his prayer in Gethsemane? Matthew 26:39, 42.
"Going a little farther, he fell on his face and prayed," My Father, if possible, this cup pass from me, but not as I will, but as you ... Again it was, and prayed for the second time, saying: My Father, if you can not pass this cup from me except I drink it, Thy will be done. "

Note: At that time, the pain imposed on the desire Christ's human not to suffer physically. The Plan of Salvation for every human being was above the suffering of Jesus, therefore, this particular sentence was the appropriate response: "If it can be", but could not be in favor of a greater benefit.

8. Why God sometimes does not answer our prayers? Proverbs 28:9.
"He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law , Su prayer is an abomination ".

9. Being close to the end, what does the Lord call us? 1 Peter 4:7.
" The end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer. "

Note: As we approach the beginning of eternity, it becomes necessary not to neglect prayer. It is a good time to start a good habit, praying.

INTRODUCTION

An ostrich swallow everything that looks interesting: an apple, tennis ball, a pocket knife (even open). The ostrich will survive but the mind swallows it all will not.

The Christian "tragalotodo" uses a strange form of reasoning. He knows that God works miracles, so I reasoned that all miracles are from God. God spoke to prophets, so if anyone has heard a strange voice "where" you must be a prophet. This is a dangerous logic. The fact that miracles are supernatural does not mean that all come from God. And the fact that miracles are made in the name of Christ does not necessarily mean that Christ is related to them.

SPEAKING IN TONGUES AND OTHER MIRACLES

Scripture Reading: Acts 2:1-24, 1 Corinthians 12.

Because by faith healings, speaking in tongues and prophetic messages involving the supernatural, and are considered miracles, let's turn our attention to some basic principles in the Bible about miracles.

1. Are miracles a sure sign of what is truth? Deuteronomy 13:1-4

____________________________________________________________ 2. Why we must be aware of deceptive miracles? Matthew 24:24
____________________________________________________________

To consider: Why not be deceived the "chosen" by the miracles misleading? ____________________________________________________________

3. Why are not miracles proof of what is genuine?
Revelation 16:14 "They _____________________________ working miracles."
Revelation 19:20 And the ________________ was captured, and with it the _____________________ that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived. "
(See also Revelation 13:13, 2 Corinthians 11:14) ______________________

From these passages we see how power may be behind some miracles. The Bible calls them "false" miracles, tricks or fraud (although, nevertheless, many of them are, no doubt). Apparently, Satan and his angels have real power to work miracles. Read how Pharaoh's magicians copied most of the miracles God did through Moses (Exodus 7, 8, 9). Everything seems to be miraculous or supernatural need not necessarily be of God. Once this fact has been established in our thinking, we are safe from more than a hoax.

4. Why is it so difficult to distinguish the true from the false for the appearance? Matthew 7:15

____________________________________________________________ 1. Fe

healing Divine healing is clearly taught in the Bible. Jesus spent more time healing than preaching. Sometimes, just spoke and the sick were healed. At other times he touched the patient. Once anointed the eyes of a blind man with mud, telling him to go to wash in the Pool of Siloam. At another point, a woman touched the hem of his garment and was healed. Jesus clung to a method of healing, but he used the natural environment and its miraculous healing ministry. When God preserved the life of the prophet Elijah, sent food through a raven (a miracle), but the water was coming from the brook Cherith (naturally).

1. If by faith healings are done in the name of Christ, do it genuine? Matthew 7:22,23 _____________ Why? (Vers.21) ______________

The miracles performed in the name of Christ by individuals who do not obey the Word of God, are not genuine, regardless of how sincere they may seem to be the user. Jesus says: "Why call me Lord, Lord, and do not do the things we say to you" (Luke 6:46). The heart that truly loves you will want to obey. "If you love Me, keep My commandments" (John 14:15). Without obedience there can be no genuine relationship with Jesus.

2. What should we do if we are sick? James 5:13
____________________________________________________________

Jesus said, "If ye shall ask in my name, I would do" (John 14:14). This certainly includes the healing. Christians should pray for themselves when they are sick.

3. What else is appropriate to do for the sick? Vers. 14, 15

____________________________________________________________ 4. Sana "God is always faithful? 2 Kings 13:14
____________________________________________________________

Despite Elisha was a faithful servant of God and prophet, God saw fit to the heal. Paul once wrote to Timothy that he had to leave Trophimus coworker, because he was sick at Miletus (2 Timothy 4:20). Why Paul did not heal him? When Paul prayed three times to be rid of a "thorn in the flesh", which many believe was a challenge given the vision, God did not guarantee your request, but promised grace sufficient to bear his affliction (2 Corinthians 12:8,9 .) No, God does not always answer prayers for healing. In his infinite wisdom, knows what is best for us. Even so, Christ "took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses "(Matthew 8:17), only in the morning of the resurrection we will have the full and complete redemption we yearn," redemption of our body "(Romans 8:23). A man of prayer put it this way: "Every child of God who remains the son of God will be healed, now or later in the resurrection of the righteous." This is a comforting way of looking at the issue.

5. What comes along with health? Mark 2:3-11

____________________________________________________________ God does not heal for us to continue practicing a sin that we know. This does not bring glory to Him, no spiritual benefit to being healed.

6. What attitude of submission Jesus gave us? Matthew 26:39
____________________________________________________________

As we examine the health ministry of Christ and become familiar with their methods and attitudes, to learn to better distinguish the true from the false healing.

Christ healed wherever the need arises. There is no evidence that would set healings sessions, and it was announcing, "will heal here tonight."

Christ preventing it from rising cult around him. More to the contrary, often told people that did not have what he had done for them, knowing that it would interfere with his primary ministry, spiritual health which he had come to teach.

Jesus never charged for his acts of mercy.

God Jesus never commanded to do something. Ordered unclean spirits, but never to God. His relationship with God was "Thy will be done." This is not a lack of faith. Our faith should be based on the knowledge that God can heal, He wants to heal, and if the best act of love is healing the sick, he will.

2. Speaking in tongues. (Glossolalia).

Our only safeguard against the wiles of Satan in the last days is firmly based on the teachings of the Word of God, which we will be able to recognize any falsification, no matter how genuine it sounds. Since Satan has distorted the whole truth that God has revealed in His Word is not surprising that the gift of tongues is no exception. Being able to recognize the true gift, we will strengthen against deception.

1. What special gifts give the Holy Spirit to the Church? 1 Corinthians 12:7-10,28-30
____________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________

2. Are all church members the same gift? (Verses 11,29,30)

____ 3. Who determines who receives the gift and what gift you get? (Verse 11) ____________________________________________________________

The Holy Spirit, and not the believer, determines who is given the gift and what kind of gift. But all their precious gifts are for the benefit of the church, none is given merely to raise the individual. Paul compares the church with the human body (verse 12-27). As each body part has its role, each member of the Church of Christ will serve a specific function. The gift and skills that God gave me a complement those given to my brothers and sisters. Not everyone heads! We are not all languages! We are not all fingers! Still, the unique gift of each member joins the church as a body to function efficiently.

To consider: In view of this, how would you react if someone tells you they do not have the Holy Spirit because they spoke in tongues? ___________________

4. For what purpose was promised the Holy Spirit? Acts 1:8 ____________________________________________________________

"All the gifts of the Spirit, including language, are given for practical use in successfully testify for Jesus Christ ... They are not given to gratify ambition, to build elite strata of society in a spiritual or emotional motor speed of the individual "(As The Spirit Speaks, p. 52).

5. Who will direct the attention only the Holy Spirit? John 16:13,14

____________________________________________________________ Do we read somewhere on Peter telling how nice feeling when the Spirit was poured out on him? Is there any mention of ecstatic feelings or tingling? None at all! The Holy Spirit is the personal representative of Christ, the Spirit directs attention only to Christ. The divert attention from Christ to the earthen vessel containing the gift in a sure sign of falsehood. Compare the records of Acts 2, 10 and 19 with it the Christian Herald, September 1972: "All the joys of my life were mixed together in an ecstatic moment, all the fun of my childhood, my first date, the time the man he wanted he said he wanted to share his life with me ... I felt I was floating instead of walking. "

6. What happened when the Holy Spirit was poured over the church waiting for him at Pentecost?
Acts 2:1-4 "And they were all filled with the ______________________, _______________________, and began to speak as the Spirit gave them utterance."

7. What does that prove that real languages spoken (languages)? (Verses 5-8) ____________________________________________________________

This gift allowed the disciples to speak fluently other languages that had not ever spoken previously, which greatly helped to spread the gospel. Says Dr. Howard M. Ervin, tutor of graduate theology at Oral Roberts University, Tulsa, Oklahoma: "If the languages are merely a "sound ecstatic," are completely irrelevant to the Christian religion "(Christianity Today, April 11, 1969, p. 10).

8. When the apostles spoke in tongues, who spoke? Acts 2:11
____________________________________________________________

To consider: Does received the gift of tongues instantly and unpremeditated, or those who received them were following special steps to receive it? ____________________________________________________________

Although there are variations, the "gift" of tongues that now prevails is received very often through instruction. A "role of praise was once exposed to those seeking the gift of tongues:

" Baptism of the Holy Spirit is normally received while praising God ... words of praise Repeat the first row (of a table ) again and again for two or three minutes, then repeat the words of the second row ..., allowing ... two or three minutes for each space ... Talk a two or three times faster than normal "(Plunket Rainbow Revival mentioned in Rattling the Gates, by Roland R. Hegstad, p. 88).

Another group of searchers of "gift" of tongues was instructed as follows:

"(1) Visual thinking and specifically, rather than abstractly: for example, try to visualize Jesus as a person, (2) knowingly give their voice and speech organs to the Holy Spirit (3) repeat certain basic sounds that he (pastor) would said, such as "bah-bah-bah" or something similar. Then he put his hands on the head of each one of them, prayed for them, and the gift finder spoke in tongues (Ibid., p. 89).

Christ said: "When you pray, use not vain repetitions" (Matthew 6:7).

9. What Paul said about the unintelligible language? 1 Corinthians 14:18,19
____________________________________________________________

10. What Paul gave guidelines on the use of tongues? (Verses 12-40)

(verse 12)
"Seek abound for the _________________________".

(verse 22)
"Tongues are for a sign ... but the ______________________".

(verse 27)
over _________ or No __________ should talk to a service, and even this should be done by _____________________, and there must be _____________________".

(verse 28)
"If there is no interpreter, ____________________________________".

(verse 33)
"God is a God of _____________________________________".

(verse 40)
"But everything yourself and __________________". __________________

11. What Don Pablo considered more important than language? (Verse 1 and 39) ____________________________________________________________

Prophecy is the ability to speak authoritatively for God. The entire Bible has come to men through the gift. The scriptures testify of Jesus and the gift of prophecy is properly called "the testimony of Jesus" (Revelation 19:10, 1 Peter 1:10-12). We'll talk more about this gift in the next lesson.

12. Who will give God the Holy Spirit? Acts 5:32
____________________________________________________________

Jesus "became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him" (Hebrews 5:8,9). Whatever the movement, if you excuse the disobedience to the law of God, be prepared! "To the law and the testimony if they speak not according to this, is because no light in them" (Isaiah 8:20).

13. When was Christ the Holy Spirit? Luke 3:21,22
____________________________________________________________

14. What do you have all the Christians? Romans 8:9 ____________________________________________________________

No Christian without the Spirit. If a person does not have the Holy Spirit is not a Christian at all. The Holy Spirit connects us with Christ. Having the Holy Spirit is to have Christ.

15. What is the evidence that one has been baptized with the Holy Spirit? Galatians 5:22,23
____________________________________________________________

What security to anyone who has been wondering if God would accept him or not for not speaking in tongues or have done wonders! A spectacular spiritual experience is not the sign of the Holy Spirit. The true sign of being baptized with the Holy Spirit are the fruits of the Spirit in daily life. In fact, Paul says, "Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and I have no love, I am become as sounding brass or tinkling cymbal" (1 Corinthians 13:1). Holiness does not consist in feelings of holiness is take the ego (or self) entirely to God, doing His will in all things, and trusting in Him completely.

In recent days, the people of God will be given power to witness to the world and prepare people for the soon return of Jesus. The enemy of our Lord is not unaware of this, and it is not surprising that attempts to obscure the matter so that the true manifestation of the Spirit of God will not be recognized.

3. Four tests to apply to miracles and tongues.

1. Deuteronomy 13:1-4
The ___________________________ is not a true test.

2. 1 John 4:1-3
should confess that Jesus the divine Son of God, came _________________________.

3. Matthew 7:16
Examine your ___________________.

4. Isaiah 8:20
If you do not agree with _____________ and _______________ (Scriptures), "no light in them "(no light or truth in them.) Let us evaluate

miracles with the Word of God, not the Word of God for the miracles.

judge all religious group for what it teaches, not the miracles that can "show."

If the teachings do not agree with the Word of God, a thousand miracles can not be right. It is our duty to seek truth and pursue it, regardless of miracles, including the language. -------------

INTRODUCTION:

pagan peoples were accustomed to hearing about language through their prophets or prophetess (Clement of Alexandria) "Plato attributed to the gods a special dialect, less by dreams and oracles, and especially Possessed, who do not speak their own language or dialect, but to the demons that have entered into them. "

Pagans used wine in their religious orgies (gods Bacchus and Dionysus) to facilitate the ecstasy, what advice does Paul give us this? Ephesians 5:18, 20, (no mention of speaking in tongues).

Possibly some of the Corinthians were related to those languages were ecstatic as pagans, trying to give voice to the silent gods. Now trying to demonstrate their "spirituality" in the church now.

I PURPOSE OF DON

1. For what purpose every gift of the Spirit?
1 Cor.
12:7 "But each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good."

1 Corinthians 14:26 "What then, brethren? When you come together, each one of you has a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. building all to yourself."

Note: The Holy Spirit gives gifts to a specific objective, "to benefit."

2. Those who received the gift of tongues, what purpose they received? Acts 2:9-11

"Parthians, Medes, Elamites and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, in Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, Phrygia and Pamphylia, in Egypt and in the regions of Africa beyond Cyrene, Romans and residents here, both Jews and proselytes, Cretans and Arabians, we hear them in our tongues the mighty works of God .

Acts 10:46 "For they heard them speaking in tongues, and magnify God."

Acts 19:6.
"Y Paul had laid his hands, came upon them the Holy Spirit and spoke in tongues, and prophesied .

3. Who will hear? Acts 2:4 - 11.
"And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance. Dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men from every nation under heaven. And when this sound occurred, the multitude came together and were confounded, because each one heard them speaking in their own language. And they were amazed and marveled, saying: "Are not all these which speak Galileans? How, then, we hear we every man in our language we were born? Parthians, Medes, Elamites and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, Phrygia and Pamphylia, in Egypt and regions of Africa beyond Cyrene, Romans and residents here, both Jews and proselytes, Cretans and Arabians, we hear them speaking in our tongues the wonderful works of God. "

Note: Note the variety of languages in which present spoke. indicates that "each one heard them speaking in their own language." Each of the disciples spoke in any of those languages without having studied or known before. And they did so with one goal: "To preach the wonders of God" .

4. If everyone understood their language in what are referred to the question of vs. 12 and 13?
Acts 2:12, 13
"Y were all amazed and perplexed, saying one to another, What does this mean? But others, mocking, said: They are full of wine. "

Acts 2:24, 36, 41
" whom God raised up, having loosed the pains of death, because it was impossible to be held by it .. . Know, then, most true whole house of Israel, this Jesus whom you crucified, God has made Lord and Christ ... Then those who gladly received his word were baptized, and added that day about three thousand souls. "

Note: Some people argue that what they said could not understand, because they believed they were drunk. This statement is not correct, because not ask "what do you mean these?" but "What do you mean?" It is clear that everyone understood in their own language what he was saying. I did not understand what was meant is that miracle. Understood that it was a "sign" but did not understand what kind of "signal", we'll see a little later.

5. Who distributes the gifts and how? 1 Corinthians 12: 11, 18
"But all these worketh that one and the same Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he wants ... But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as he wanted. "

Note: Clearly is God the Holy Spirit who distributes the gifts as you want who you want when you want. Therefore we can not understand that our will cause the gift of tongues, and not everyone has to have or manifest the gift of tongues as the Spirit who gives the gift he thinks he sees fit to appropriate.

6. What question does Paul soon after? 1 st Cororintios 12:29, 30 .
"Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles? Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues? Do I read them all? "

Note: not all speak with tongues, this text bears this out.

II AS SIGNAL

7. Who was a sign the gift of tongues? 1 Corinthians 14:22.
"Therefore tongues are for a sign, not to believers but to unbelievers, but prophecy, not to unbelievers but to believers."

Note: As we saw earlier, the manifestation of tongues at Pentecost, raised a question: "What does this mean?" Clearly understood that it was a sign, but not identified at that time. The gift of tongues was a sign to unbelieving Jews who rejected Jesus as the promised Messiah. Precisely that was the subject of Peter's preaching in Acts 2.

8. What are these unbelievers? 1 Corinthians 14:21
"The law is written: In other tongues and other lips will I speak to this people, and even then hear me, saith the Lord."

Isaiah 28:11, 12, 14.
"For with stammering lips and another tongue will speak to this people, which he said: This is the rest the weary to rest, and this is the refreshing, but not hear ... So scornful men that rule this people who are in Jerusalem, hear the word of the Lord. "

Note: In these texts we have, on one hand, Paul's reference to the sign posted in Isaiah about 8 centuries before Pentecost, and secondly, the text same which was announced in Isaiah. There are those who see the "language of stuttering" an indication of languages that are not understood or what today is known as "glossolalia," when what Isaiah means is that a miracle will happen that the who can not speak, speak in tongues and even "strange", ie, foreign, as happened in Acts 2. Then just saying that those who govern the people of God, that they will signal to realize that really is the word of Jehovah. In line with what is said in Isaiah 28, the message of Peter continues this trend, the refusal of Jews to the Messiah ("but ye would not hear").

9. Why was no signal to the rest of the unbelievers? 1 Corinthians 14:23.
"If therefore the whole church comes together in one place, and all speak in tongues, and unlearned or unbelievers enter, will they not say that you are mad?"

Note: Paul makes clear that the gift of tongues is NOT a sign for unbelievers in the time of the cristinaos as many understand it today. It was just a sign to the unbelieving Jews who rejected Jesus. Moreover, warns against the "abuse" of this "gift", as negative as it was understood in Corinth, probably inheriting the pagan glossolalia, common in pagan rituals of Corinth, some wanted to import to Christianity. The real gift is the "xenoglossy" or speaking in foreign languages.

III HOW AND HOW NOT DO IS

10. What that does the speaking by the Spirit of God? 1 Corinthians 12:2, 3.
"Ye know that ye were Gentiles, you will be bringing you astray, as I had to mute idols. Therefore, I make know that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed, and no one can call Jesus Lord except by the Holy Spirit. "

Note: This is text understand two things: 1) these were used to pagan rituals in which priests mainly going into a trance, speaking the language of the "gods" to give voice to those "dumb idols." Incidentally, this is the context in which Paul says later controversial phrase " silenced women in the congregation "(1 Corinthians 14:34) indicates that the Christian church not be confused with a pagan temple where the priests speak in" tongues of gods. "

On the other hand, it seems that among those who professed to speak in tongues (glossolalia), there were those who called "anathema to Jesus", otherwise, why Paul admonishes him? This also further confirms that the manifestation of "glossolalia" of Corinth came from the Holy Spirit, but the lake was spurious, so both Paul insists that they come from the Holy Spirit when, how and to whom He wants.

11. If this is the case of tongues, what should be in the church to speak? 1 Corinthians 14:28, 30 - 33.
"If there is no interpreter, street in the church and speak to himself and to God ... if anything is revealed to another sitting, let the first. For ye may all prophesy one by one so that all may learn and all be encouraged. And the spirits of prophets are subject to the prophets, for God is not God of confusion but of peace. As in all churches of the saints. "

Note: Nor does Paul say who did and who did not have the true gift of tongues. For him it was obvious and clear what the true gift or xenoglossy" . However, given some guidelines to prevent abuse of this gift.
1) There must be an interpreter. It is necessary that what is said to be building for everyone and can be understood one way or another.
2) If no interpreter, street who claims to have the gift of tongues.
3) Could Talk in order, one by one so that everyone benefits from the gift. Many do not practice this, but it shows the "glossolalia" in a disorderly way, contrary to what Paul suggests. God is God of order, peace, not confusion or tumult.

12. What has to be what they say with the gift of tongues? 1 Corinthians 14:7 - 9.
"Even things without life that make sounds, like the flute or the harp, if you do not give a distinction of voices, how do you know what is played on the flute or the harp, and if the trumpet give uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself for battle? So also, if you will obey by the tongue words easy to understand, how do you mean what you say? Ye shall speak into the air. "

Note: This text again Paul says that what is said in tongues, should be understandable. Paul has just said, which makes it" speaks to the air. "Today we say, "It's like speaking to a wall." Even so, some decontextualized this phrase and say that "speaking to the air" must be understood as "speaking the Holy Spirit." Nothing is further from the truth. It is a contextualization. Just the previous sentence makes it very clear, should understand what is said.

13. What we need to pray and sing? 1 Corinthians 14:15 - 17.
"What then? Will pray with the spirit, I will pray with the understanding, sing with the spirit and I will sing with the understanding also. Because if you bless with the spirit, which takes place unlearned how will say Amen to your thanksgiving? he did not know what you said. For you, indeed give thanks well, but the other is not edified. "

Note: There are many who maintain that the gift of tongues is praise of the human spirit to God in tongues angelic. that are not understood. Later we talked about the "tongues of angels." It is clear from this text that what I speak, even in language, must be understandable for me too " I will sing with the understanding also ." It is essential for those who hear Paul can say Amen to your blessing or praise, because I have understood, otherwise " the other is not edified."

14. Paul had the gift of tongues, but how he preferred to speak? 1 Corinthians 14:18, 19.
"I thank God I speak with tongues more than ye all in the church but rather speak five words with my understanding, to teach others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue. "

Note: Paul himself spoke in tongues, of course the right way, as the true gift. And to be an example and tackle a problem that was shaking in the church at Corinth, Paul goes on to say that it is better to say five words with my understanding "so that others can learn something (which implies that others understand) that" ten thousand words in an unknown tongue. "Best is silent before saying things that edify or understood by those around me.

IV tongues of angels

15. Reading 1 Cor. 13:1 - 3
"If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and I have no love, I am become as sounding brass or a tinkling cymbal. And if I have prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have faith , so as to remove mountains, and I have no love, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor and surrender my body to be burned, and I have no love, I gain nothing " .

Note: "He gave Paul his body to be burned? Of course not. "He had all the faith Paul? Neither is true. He moved mountains "to and fro? We are unaware of it. So what Paul spoke tongues of angels? Obviously the context indicates to me that this is hyperbole, a figure of speech that uses exaggeration.

16. What Paul wants to stress in these verses? 1 Corinthians 13:1 - 3.
Note: is clear that Paul compares the supposed "tongues of angels" as an unrealistic exaggeration. Paul wanted to teach the Corinthian church that the important thing was not "out" in the church as "more spiritual than others" to speak alleged tongues of angels. It is understood that many converts from paganism, accustomed to the language of the gods, wanted to see the same manifestation or form of communication with the true God.
For Paul, all that is useless if not accompanied by pure motives or intentions. The most important thing is love. This shows that many who claimed to have "tongues" at Corinth did not have genuine love in their lives, so I'd probably be sought out in the local church. The misunderstanding of the true gift of tongues today can lead to many Christian congregations in similar behavior, seeking to be more "spiritual" than the other brothers.

V EXAMPLES OF BAPTISM OF SPIRIT

17. What happened to the deacons to those who laid hands on him? Acts 6:5 - 7.
"It pleased the proposal to the entire crowd, and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and the Holy Spirit, and Philip, Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolas a proselyte of Antioch, which appeared before the the apostles, who prayed, they laid their hands. And the word of the Lord, and the number of disciples multiplied greatly in Jerusalem, many of the priests were obedient to the faith. "

Note: Nothing, not spoken languages, and is noteworthy since in other places do specifically mentioned this fact in the conversion of gentiles or Jews.

18. What other examples of people who have received the Spirit?
- The parents of John the Baptist. Luke 1:5, 6.
"In the days of Herod, king of Judea, a priest named Zacharias, of the division of Abijah, his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elizabeth. They were both righteous before God, walking blameless in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord. "

- John the Baptist Luke 1:15.
"he will be great before God. Do not drink wine or strong drink, and be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from the womb of its mother."

- Jesus. Luke 3:21, 22; 4:1.
"to pass, when all the people were baptized, Jesus was baptized, and praying, heaven was opened. And the Holy Spirit descended upon him in bodily form like a dove and a voice from heaven saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I have pleasure ... Jesus, filled with the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness. "

- The Samaritans Acts 8:14 - 17.
"When the apostles in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent Peter and John, who, having come down, prayed for them to receive the Holy Ghost was not yet fallen upon none of them had simply been baptized in the name of Jesus. Then they laid their hands, and they received the Holy Spirit. "

Note: In none of these cases speak in tongues.

VI THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT

19. What should people do not has received the Spirit? Galatians 5:19 - 21.
"are manifest works of the flesh, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, dissensions, heresies, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these, of which I forewarn you just as I said before, that those who practice such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. "

Note: It is not uncommon find people who "demonstrate" the alleged gift of tongues and whose life reflects the fruit mentioned above. This calls into question that the Holy Spirit is present in their lives, and therefore, really the source of the alleged gift.

20. What is the first thing the Holy Spirit to reach the believer?

John 16:8 "And when he comes, will convict the world of sin, justice and trial."

John 3:3 - 5.
"Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily I say unto thee, Except a man be born again he can not see the kingdom of God." Nicodemus asked: How can a man be born when he is old? Can not enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born? "Jesus answered, Verily, verily I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and the Spirit, he can not enter the kingdom of God."

Note: Many argue that without talking "angelic tongues (glossolalia), not yet received the Holy Spirit. Nothing is further from the truth. At the moment a person is aware that he is a sinner and need forgiveness, and therefore accept Jesus as your personal Savior, that is the best and most genuine manifestation of having received the Holy Spirit. The sinner has been convinced of "sin, righteousness and justice."

21. What prerequisite for the "gift" met the disciples in the upper room?
Acts 2:1 "When the Day of Pentecost, they were all together."

Note: many churches and people claim to have the "gift of the Spirit," and soon after shown angry, angry with church strife between brothers, discussions, etc.. The precondition for receiving the Spirit Ghost is having an attitude of humility and unanimity with others, seeking forgiveness, reconciliation and mutual blessing.

22. Only after a genuine experience, the Christian is baptized with the Spirit, what are the fruits of it? Galatians 5:22, 23.
"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law."

Note: If someone says have the Holy Spirit, look if your life reflects the fruit mentioned above. CONCLUSION

- Glossolalia is a counterfeit of the true gift of tongues or xenoglossy, speaking in foreign languages existing real.

- The xenoglossy is a gift God gives when he sees fit for the edification and progress of the Church, always to bear witness.

- It is an experience which must pass any new convert.

- 1 Corinthians 14 is a manual on how to NOT be the gift of tongues.

- A person who receives the "gift of tongues" must show the fruits of the Spirit. -------------

9.3 PERSONALIDAD Y DIVINIDAD DEL ESPÍRITU SANTO

THIS STUDY BIBLE Download PDF
HERE INTRODUCTION

The Holy Spirit is not simply a divine power or influence. Is a person in the truest sense and rigorous word.

1. The name of the Holy Spirit mentioned in close connection with others as if one of them

1. Who Was it what was decided at the Council of Jerusalem? Acts 15:28.
"It seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things."

2. Who glorifies Hesus? John 16: 13-14.
"But when He, the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth: He will not speak on their own, but will speak whatever he hears, and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shew it unto you. "

2. The facts of Spirit are facts pertaining to personal and conscious action

1. What distinguishes a person what?
Answer: is self-consciousness, the person hac and act with the free exercise of his will.

They ministered to the Lord and fasting, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called. "

e. He forbids. Acts 16:6, 7.
" And through Phrygia and the province of Galatia, having been forbidden by the Holy Spirit to speak the word in Asia, and when they came to Mysia, they tried to go into Bithynia, but the Spirit would not allow it. "

f. He intercedes. Romans 8:26 .
"In the same way the Spirit also helps our infirmities: for what we should pray for as we do not know, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings."

g. Distributes gifts to whomever he wishes.
- 1 Corinthians 12:11
"But all these worketh that one and the same Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he wills."

-
Acts 20:28 "Take heed to yourselves and to all the flock that the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood" .

3. The Holy Spirit can be affected by human behavior, how people are affected by the acts of others

1. What not to do the Holy Spirit? Ephesians 4:30.
"Y Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. "

2. Against whom can sin? Matthew 12:31.
" Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. "

3. Who do not lie? Acts 5:1 - 4.
" But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession, and stole the money, knowing also his wife, and brought a certain part, and laid at the feet of the apostles. Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and have kept the price of the land? Holding it, was you do not you? and sold, was it not under your control? Why put this in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God. "

4. If it were only a personification of the power of divine action, there would be an absurd repetition

1. How was anointed Jesus? Facts 10:38.
" God anointed with the Holy Spirit and with power Jesus of Nazareth, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, because God was with him. "

2. How could the Roman believers abound in hope?

3. How was the preaching of the apostle Paul? 1 Corinthians 2:4.
" And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom but in demonstration of the Spirit and power. "

5. Divinity of the Holy Spirit

1. Who Ananias lied when he lied to the Holy Spirit? Acts 5:3; 4.
"Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and have kept the price of the land? Retaining, was you did not you? And sold, was it not in your power and why put it in your heart? not lied to men but to God "

2. What attributes of God are applied to the Holy Spirit?
a. Gives life. Romans 8:2.
"For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death."

b. The Truth. John 16:13.
"But when He, the Spirit of Indeed, he will guide you into all truth: He will not speak on their own, but will speak whatever he hears, and he will shew you things to come ".

c. Is Holy. Romans 1:4 .
"which was declared the Son of God in power according to the Spirit of holiness by his resurrection from the dead."

d. Omnipresence. Psalm 139:7.
"Where do I go from your Spirit? And where can I flee from your presence? "

e. Omniscience. 1 Corinthians 12:4 - 11.
" Now there are diversities of gifts but the same Spirit. There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations, but God works all things in all the same. But each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the profit. Because it is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom, to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the same Spirit. To another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. But all these worketh that one and the same Spirit, dividing to every man severally as He wills. "

3. What works of God are attributed to the Holy Spirit?
i. Creation. Genesis 1: 1 to 2.
"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. And the earth was without form and void, and darkness was upon the face of the abyss, and the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters"

ii . Reprove the world of sin, righteousness and judgment. John 16:8.
"And when he comes, will convict the world of sin, justice and trial."

iii. The new birth. John 3:5 - 8.
"Jesus answered, Verily, verily I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and the Spirit, he can not enter the kingdom of God. What is born of the flesh is flesh, and what is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. The wind blows where it wishes and you hear the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit "

iv. The resurrection. Romans 8:11.
" And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, who rose from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. "

4. How is the name of God identified with the Holy Spirit?
Compare 1 Corinthians 3:16 with 1 Corinthians 6:19.
"Know ye not that ye are the temple of God , and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?"

" Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit , which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

Compare Jeremiah 31: 33 - 34 with Hebrews 10:15 - 17.
"But this is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith I will put my law in their minds, and write it in your heart; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. And do not teach again his fellow or his brother, saying, Know the LORD, for all I know, from the smallest to the largest of them, saith the Lord: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. "

" And testifies same the Holy Spirit, for having said: This is the covenant I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord: I will put my laws into their hearts And in their minds will I write them: And never again remember their sins and transgressions. "

5. What is the name of the Holy Spirit mentioned in equality with God?

1 Peter 1:2.
"according to the foreknowledge of God the Father through sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience and sprinkling the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace and peace be multiplied. "
